you have a dvd movie,did you mean you want to make a duplicate dvd or just save it to your hardrive?or both

there are lots of different software you can use.
try using DVD Shrink.or DVD Decrypter.both are freeware.which you can download from this site.
once ripped,you can also burn a copy with decrypter.

Let me ask this: After you get your movie onto your HD, I'm assuming you would like to burn it back to a disc, correct? As Hursty stated, two of the BEST freeware proggy's you can use are DVD Decrypter, which rips the disc to your HD; and DVD Shrink, which can also rip but is used primarily to compress a large disc on to a smaller one. Both are invaluable tools. Just check the guides section. Cheers!
