I just got a SwapMagic 3 disc set with the fliptp and i cant play any backups on it. I used DvdDecrypter to make my backup on TDK 8X DVD+R burned at 1X (actual speed that decrypter used was 3.3x). I have backed up Metal Gear Solid 3, Need For Speed Underground 1 and Devil May Cry 2 and none of them work.

Here is my procedure after burning:

1. Put in swap magic dvd disc
2. Screen says Load and video mode
3. Video mode is set to normal (default)
4. I open the fliptop and put the backup in it.
5. I press load and it reads but then displays:
"Not a valid PS2 disc"

What is the problem?

Can anyone help? Has anyone backed up these games and played them with success with swapmagic 3 and the fliptop? Is it the media?

Join the club lol Well at this point I just had done everything I was told to get some good dvd-r ,clen the len and etc So I might aswell just buy that dvd I was posting about ...Man what a mess so far . well good luck to u cause I know I need it at this point ......

what version is your ps2? if you don't know tell me your model number of your ps2 which is on the back of the ps2 or in your settings on your ps2 main menu.

I have a version 7 ps2.

I backed up Metal Gear SOlid 3 with a DVD-R and it loads up but only to the Konami screen and then it freezes. I don tknow what's wrong.

Your media may be the problem

I use Verbatim <MCC>---(Manufacturer)----IMPORTANT

I have 30+ backups With DVD Decrypter burning at 2X
(Make sure you shutdown any background applications when burning,you also may want to increase the system Pagefile as well).
Other than that Your Firmware might not be updated.
Also if your ps2 is above ver 4 use +r disks!

My verbatim Are AZO Dye.

But the bottom is dark purple (Not silver).
The top is Branded silver though.
(Not sure about the ones above)
The spindle and disk look Different
Those may not be <MCC> Manufactured.
