What version of PS2 do you have? Here is a repair guide for the older big PS2, the guide has been done on the V0\1 but I think it will work for every PS2 except the new slim one:

That did help me out some what. I seem to be having a problem lining up the contorl port section. It seems that it is resting to low and might be missing something.

I need help can someone either tell me or direct me to a link to fix my ps2 when i opened the case to my ps2 the power switch to open the sytem tray and reset the game was pulled and i dont know where or how to attach it thanks mike

I am experiencing what I have found to be a common problem with my Ps2. It is making a clicking sound and will not read discs anymore. One place said it is the laser gear, it needs to be cleaned or replaced. They sell it for $9.95.

1.Do you all agree with this asessment of the problem?

2. Where can I find a free guide that will show me how to take out and replace and/or clean the laser gear?
