A strange anomaly occurred several weeks ago. It seems that when I play a video from a previous disc on my dvd-burner using either WinDVD5 or Media Player Classic on WindowsXP, replace that disc with another disc, and play the current disc, certain video portions from the previous disc manage to somehow playback from time to time as if part of the video from the previous disc is stored in the dvd-burner's buffer or ram. This only seems to happen when I playback using my dvd-burner (a TDK 404n) whereas the dvd-reader (a Pioneer 115s with no memory buffer) works just fine. At first, I assumed that my burner was exhibiting signs of wear and tear so I decided to purchase a new burner (NEC ND3220A) however the problem still persists. I then decided to dual-boot from WindowsXP to Windows 98SE since I have a version of WinDVD5 and Media Player Classic on 98SE and the problem doesn't occur in 98SE. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue in XP?
