press triangle in your snes and then go to video mode. Change it to "force ntsc" or "force pal" depending on where you live. That 60/60 is your frames per second. SO it means its working

because the rom is only 100kb or so in size. or at least less than a couple mb, so it loads the whole game into the ram of the system. Then there is no need for the disk to keep spinning so why would you want it to?

did you do what I said!?

You need to change the options BEFORE you load a rom

also try a few different roms.

If you get that screen then press the L1+R1 button at the same time, or else the L2 + R2 buttons at the same time. It should allow you to exit so you dont have to reboot.

Dood.. iv been readin up on this emulator on ps2 thing and it seems like ur the pro with all the answers. I got this usbextreme disc that allows me to hook up a external hard drive to my slim ps2 and i got a couple games on it. I was wonderin if somehow i can run emulators on it like snes station or somethin. Any ideas on how to install it into the hard drive? Like the steps and how to make it run. And can i store mp3's and movies in the hard drive too? let me know aight. Thanks

mp3's and movies you can dude :) (google reality media player pro <---its free)

emulators u can kinda, if u make an image of a cd all emu's should work,

a few emulators allow bootin off the roms of folders on the hdd, u have to check their pages :)

snes station is the only one that does NOT support HDD loading of roms at the moment. This is out of the ones worth playing at least.

I never did try the disk image thing though, I dont think it makes a difference though, it simply cannot look at a hdd for games. If its not in the coding I dont think it works.

Hmm... but how would you go about installin this reality media program to the HDD so that the usbextreme can recognize it and make the program run? Do i have to put it in a specific file or somethin of that matter? And about the emulator... i read a forum that says supposedly you can run the snes station emulator of the HDD and make a disc containing roms and the emu would load the games off that.

snes station should work, you just have to make an .iso with all the romz, it just kinda kills the advantage of having it run off the hdd (like easily swapping new roms, u would have to make a new iso)

then of course it could be realli realli badly coded too

Reality media player, there is a few ways

1) burn a disc with it on and select the movie off the hdd
2) put the .elf on the mem card or hdd and run it via (launchelf or similiar)

for putting movies on hdd u have a few choices,

1) copy them over with execftp (may take awhile, involves lan setup)
2) burn them onto a dvd, and then copy them with eg.PS2os, o a partition on the hdd

i would recommened 1 as with 2 u have to burn a dvd and u mite as well watch the movies off the dvd (or cd)

ok almost got it dood just a few questions.

1. DO i just store the mp3s and movies directly into the HDD using windows? Like do i have to put it in any type of directory or just randomly store it in the HDD.

2. If i make a cd with reality media pro do i burn it to a CD or a DVD and do i need a mod chip for the ps2 to read it?

3. With Snes station do i store the emu just randomly into the HDD or do i have to make a specific file or directory. And do i need a mod chip for the ps2 to read the roms i burn onto a cd?

Thanks for answerin yo it helps alot especially from pros who knows what they are talkin about .

1)cant use windose, to put files on...

as i said u need to use execftp, which means u have to have setup ur ps2 for lan, there is a thread here sumwhere on it :)

2) should work with either, though u need to make a proper .iso, not just putting the .elf file on a cd (yes people do it...)

and of course, u will need a modchip for 2

3)with snes station, u are making an .iso and installing it as if i was a game, (it runs the same way as your usbextreme/HDA games will run)

Note: do u have usbextreme? or HDA? i'd assume u have one as you are talking about it

Aight i got it. Thanks man. That FTP thing is too complicated for me especially with LAN and junk im too dumb to even attempt it. I'll just use my HDD for games and emulators. Screw mp3's and movies. And yea i have USBextreme which is alright for storin old games cuz i heard it doesnt work with new games ( like all the EA tittles). But i got GTA San andres workin so im happy.

hmm i forgot, u have a usb hdd.

i believe u might be able to just copy movies etc onto a partition on the usb harddrive, in windows... the problem here is that it has to be a windows formatted partition to be readable by windows, and im not sure how it will like the ps2 formatted hard drive, if it detects it, ur good to go, if not i cant realli help you, i have v7 ps2 with internal harddrive

realli?, wow thats cool, a normal hdd, the one i have, when plugged into a pc is unreadable by normal windows... u need apps and they dont allow dumping of movies,.. yet

u might as well try it, i know that it plays movies of a usb hdd, im not 100% sure how to put them on ( i dunt own one)

i reckon, u just need to have a partition and dump the movie file there, if u post what shows up in windows it mite help more :)

I think you should write down the steps cuz i dont know if you need different partitions for games and movie files and stuff. All i know is that i have a external HDD and i wanna put a media player on it but i dont know how.
