Prob w/ DVD Decryptor

I'm having problems backing up games, when i go to write i pick the smaller mds file (no mdf) and DVD Decryptor tells me that the file is to big and i'm using a Memorex Dvd-R disk. it should fit. i'm new at this could someone please help me.

What game?
The problem with memorex is that they buy their media from several different manufacturers, some good some bad. If I knew I would always get Ricohjpn then I would buy them all the time, but every time I gambled and bought some they were either cmc magnetics or info disk which are both bottom of the barrel clay pigion stand ins. Never again. Since I buy 100 at a time I'm not willing to take a chance on getting crap media.

I wouldn't reccomend using DVD Decrypter, it's crap and I have never gotten it to work for me. I use Nero and have about 200+ backups and not a single coaster. That and it is so easy, just click the DVD tab, then copy disc, then set your write to 1x and uncheck quick copy, and presto magicko!

thanx i have Nero so i'll try that and i'll get some new disks 2, if the file is to big on Nero is there any way the files can be compressed so that they fit on the disk

Although I have had no problems with Memorex DVD's but CD's I have. DVD Decryptor I've never used. Nero I can't stand. To bulky. The only time I use Nero is for Data ripping. Alcohol 120 gives you Emulation, 31 virtual Drives. handy if you have 3/4 disc set's in ISO's. backs up the PS2 games with ease. :) Wizard works gr8t for one step PS2 backup. Backing up PS2 CD's have copywrite on them. Use ClonyXL for determining the copywrite. but, Thier mostly PSx/copywrite. Online PS2 games I found with some Games if you don't patch the image for the online part of it. they tend to mess up durring play. This happen to me with Socom II: US Navy Seals. I forgot to patch the Online part of it and had to Redo the backup.

STEP BY STEP WITH DVD DECRYPTER
(BURN NO MORE THAN 2x)
Turn off any background progs.
1. Take the ps2 game put it in the dvd rom or dvd burner, your choice.
2. open the dvd decryptor program then go to to tool bar and hit MODE>ISO>READ. Then choose the correct dvd drive that the game is in as the "source". Also choose where you want the files to be stored on the pc hdd. THEN CLICK DECRYPT , or the huge graphical picture at the bottom of the program which makes it run. The game is now copying to your HDD. Take the game out when finished (it might take a while).
3. Go to the same tab in dvd decryptor and choose MODE>ISO>WRITE. This will then let you look for the files you just created in step 2. Select the file that you just created. (There is only 2 files creadted so pick the .mds) (The smaller file)Then click WRITE, make sure there is blank DVD in the drive.
The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list. The discs at
the bottom of the list are suitable only for a landfill.
Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
PVC = Pioneer = (-R)(-RW)
MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2
Decent discs, though not perfect, about 85-95%
success rate:
RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh = (+R)
SONYD04 = Sony = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
PRODISC = Prodisc Media = (+RW)
INFODISC = Infodisc Media = (+RW)
RITEKG04 = Ritek = (-R)
RITEKG03 = Ritek = (-R)
OPTODISC = Optodisc = (-R)
Quality can be very questionable, about 50-80% success rate:
LEADDATA or LD01 or LD or LEDA = Lead Data = (-R)(-RW)
PRINCO = Princo = (-R)(-RW)
RITEK = Ritek = (-RW)
ONIDTECH = OnidTech = (-R)
Pathetic garbage media, landfill material, about 0-50% success rate:
RITEKG01, RITEKG02 = Ritek = (-R)
PIODATA = Lead Data = (-R) ... often sold as "Pioneer OEM" but that's false
Unbranded PIO = Fake Pioneer = (-R) ... often sold as "Pioneer OEM" but that's false
Unbranded SONY = Fake Sony = (-R)
Unbranded MXL = Fake MXL = (-R)
ACCU = Unknown OEM = (-R)
LONGTEN = Unknown OEM = (-R)
AN31, AN32, ANWELL, AN30 = Unknown OEM = (-R)

you cannot copy mgs2,without removing the dummy files,to decrease the size of the file.
there is a guide floating around the forum somewhere,do a search.

you got to make 2 dvd disc,one for the story line and one for the practice mission and by way the i have burn t it too and it work.but i have 2 dvd like i say.
