I BOUGHT BLANK DVD-R MEDIA (DATAWRITE) AND IT DOESN'T WORK WITH PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-105... WITH NERO I READ THE MESSAGE "POWER CALIBRATION ERROR" WHAT'S THIS?

First off NO CAPITAL LETTERS, this is deemed to be shouting.
The Pioneer 105 is considered to be a good model, so hopefully the problems lie in software.
First off, what version of Nero are you using. This is very important.

i have nero 5.5.9.17, but i have the same error message using prassi primo dvd 2.0
"power calibration error"
can you help me?
excuse if my english isn't perfect i'm italian!

Very early indiactions point to possible DVD-R media problems.
Are you able to try another media type ?

yes I use dvd-r "magnex" and is all ok ! now i've give 1dvd-r datawrite to my friend and he must test it (he has a pioneer-105 too)

OK, keep me posted. I have a Pioneer A104, and have used Datawrite "Classic" with no problems (X1 burn)

Pioneer 105 will not work with the datawrite 2X discs,get the Datawrite 4X discs and they work excellent!
Avoid the 2X Datawrite media just now!

Yes, I have just bought a dvd pioneer 105
and got myself some 2x discs and they never worked. I get an error no matter what kind of burning software I use.
1x work fine but its like watching paint dry.

my frined test dvd-r datawrite in his pioneer 105 and works! but he can't play in ps2.
will exit a new firmware to use this media?

I too have tried these at X2 with limited sucess (X1 only) X2 seems to burn OK, but playback is definately a problem, and this is on devices that I do not have problems with X1 burn media.
