Hello all,

I've had my burner (A mad dog external dual layer) for just over a month now. At first, I had endless issues with burning and created many, many coasters. After a lot of web searching and reading threads here I updated firmware and used forceaspi - voila! it worked! since then I've been using dvdshrink (occassionally coupled with decrypter when necessary) to make iso files that I then burn with the free version of nero which came with my burner.the method has been very reliable since the intiial firmware/aspi fix. thus far I've managed to make nearly 100 backups total with only one or two scattered errors (mostly due to my own simple foulups and mis-clicking). Recently, using maxell dvd-r media to burn my shrink made iso with nero, I recieved a burn failed message "writing short lead-out." I tried different media (memorex 8x dvd-r) with the same results. after much searching and debating I just wiped nero and then reinstalled it fresh. that worked for a few burns, but now I am recieving the same errors midway through the burn. I am burning at 4x and I don't believe I've done any other changes. I did briefly install anydvd, but since I was burning fine without it and it caused hangups with it's beg notice on booting, I removed it. Please help. I've had so many problems leading up to this point I am out of ideas.
