Hi
I have successfully burnt 4 SVCDS to a DVD as
data & one of my DVD players will almost always play
these , though it loads them as data & I must hit
play , which is acceptable .( I`ve even mixed & matched divx & mpgs as data on one dvd-r & all played fine)But my other DVD player
will only play , almost always only 1st 2 SVCDs , & if
I`m lucky the 3rd . rarely the 4th .
So what I need to ask you experts is how , & if , I
can take multiple SVCDs & burn them as svcds on a DVD-r
so DVD player will play all them , can this be done ?
Thank you m8`s

Damm
Now i`m told I`m missing mpeg/ dvd codec
when I launch winavi . But no indication
as to what this file is precisely .
I have mpeg2 filter [.m2v codec] for wmp
installed , but thats not it . Any ideas on
what the codec is & where I can get it . i`ve
searched google & other sites with no luck
Cheers

Don't you have some sort of DVD playing software like Win DVD or Power DVD? DVD software is the only place you can get the DVD codec it is not free or available for download like all the other codecs. Just install one of those software players for DVD's and you will be all set.
Using WinAVI will convert your SVCD files into .VOB and .IFO files which are DVD compliant so you would no longer have SVCD format as you had suggested earlier. Nero Vision Express will do this also.

Thanks again .
I shall d/l one of those programs then asap .
Sorry If i misrepresented my intentions .
I 1st need to merge the svcds , but then I want to make a dvd from these files .
I think I need to do it this way , merge them , if I don`t & just winavi them to dvd , What i may get as a
result , are as many dvds as I have svcds , am I correct ? Or may winavi merge thes ? I`m starting to confuse myself here ..LoL
The guides you pointed to are great .Esp
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/multiple_svcd_on_dvdr_page_4.cfm
But it only gives instructions for merging 2 svcds , &
one my 2 movies are 3 svcds . So I`m confused all over again . I posted a msg for help as another thread in this forum .
PS did U indicate Nero vision express will make a dvd
of svcds as well ? If so is this part of Nero 6.3x ?
& will it save it to my drive so I can put 2 movies 2 gether ? I`m looking into my Nero now :)
Thanks for all m8

Try using DVD-Lab. I encode all my files to SVCD (mpeg 2, 480x480, 48,100) then import them into DVD-Lab, burn them as a DVD and it works fine in almost every DVD player. (Note: You do get a message from DVD-Lab saying you are using SVCD files, just ignore it.) Thanks to this method, I can usually get 8-10 22 minute clips, or 4-5 44 minute clips on one DVD.
