I recently got a modchip for a christmas present (late one that is so I don't know which chip it is) and have a few questions. First off, do I need anything else to play a burned game and how do I patch games (which I know there are protected games out there)? Secondly, am I able to play PS1 burned games on my PS2 (they are burned on every CDR imaginable, you name it, I've got a game on one)? Thanks for your help in advance.

I don't know if this will help but my dad tells me that I am to press the "reset" button twice when putting in ps1 games. If this helps, I have a V7 PS2.

Sorry if I was a little vague, I both a problem and asking for information. First my problem, I am unable to play my PS1 backups on my modded PS2. I am wondering if I have to do something extra to get them to work. Secondly, I have now found programs to get cd ID's for games such as EA games, but I still am unable to find a guide to how to use them. If there is a guide, plz post the link or type it in your own words if you wish. Also is there a site that lists games that need to be patched?

you need to find out what sort of modchip you have, you may have to put your ps2 in ps1 mode,
some modchips require for you to put them in ps1 mode.
try keeping your finger on the eject button for more than 5 secs, then load up your ps1 game
i have never heard of the need to use cd id's?
most modchips load ea games just as they would any other

basically, you need to find out what chip you have fitted, maybe you need to open up the ps2 to see exactly what you have.

The cd ID's is for mainly online games, the DNAS thingy. I will find out the type of mod chip I have by the end of the night.
