Hello Everyone,
This is my 1st post on this site, this is the best site on the net, I'm very new to this so let me get started.
I currently have a Dell Inspiron Notebook 8200 30gb HD, 512Ram, winXP. My Wife is going to get me a DVD Burner for xmas and need to know what are some good external usb/firewire to look at getting. I've been reading a lot of information on this site for about 3 days now. I've down loaded decrypter today and put the young guns dvd in there and ripped to my hard drive with ease, it said the size of it was like 4.8GB I just need some input on what to do, i'm really new to this type thing. What other programs do I need to backup my dvd collection and where can I get these programs(for free), I'm sorry to be so stupid in this. any opinions will be appreciated

for any dvd under 4.3 gig use this guide

http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/small_dvd_2_dvdr.cfm

if it is larger then you need to make it smaller, use this guide. this guide also tells you all the software you will need and where to download it

http://www.geocities.com/daseamonkey420

it took me forever to find these guides so pass the information on and burn at the slowest speed possible I have found.

goldenboy,

I always like the opportunity to plug my favorite - DVDShrink - it can be used with DVD-5's under 4.36GB and also for DVD-9'S (over 4.36GB) COST - FREE
It will rip your DVD, allow you to re move those things you don't care for - trailers extras etc and it can be used to compress your movie to fit on a single DVD-R. The only thing you have left to do is to
Fry dat Baby !!

Here is a link for that (Guide included)

A complete DVDShrink program download and step-by-step guide can be downloaded from ?

Try it, you'll like it -
