Ok, even if someone has tried a usb HD, the ps2 would not recognize the drive and therefore it would not work. but there is a program called USB loader in the works, so maybe soon slim users can experience the HD componet.

I have a va nogap, ridata 8x dvd+r, NEC burner, and flashed with 1.39.

I have a v4 nogap, NEC Burner, Ridata 8x dvd+r, 1.39 on modchip, burn speed of 2.4x, and I use Nero Burning ROM.

If your ps2 is a v4 it might be confused with the +R media. Try backing up the disc on -R media.

that is if you still are having problems with your GTA backup.
