u need a bootdisc like swapmagic to play ur backups , u can burn any game u want , use decent media , dvd -r works on all ps2's , dvd +r not. What u mean with ""i pay" ?

DVD Decrypter will rip/burn.
-R discs do not work on all PS2's.
+R discs work on some.
You need to find out what version PS2 you have to get the right mod chip/swap magic discs. Make sure you use GOOD media. I use Ritek G04 -R's, they work great for me. Burn a movie on a -R and a +R and whichever one your PS2 plays, that's what format media you use (+ or -). If you're gonna pay, pay me!

PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.
So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.
We all wouldnt be buying modchips and such If we didnt need them

Ps2 does not read dl or rw disks.

The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list.
Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
PVC = Pioneer = (-R)(-RW)
MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2
Decent discs, though not perfect, about 85-95%
success rate:
RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh = (+R)
SONYD04 = Sony = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
PRODISC = Prodisc Media = (+RW)
INFODISC = Infodisc Media = (+RW)
RITEKG04 = Ritek = (-R)

99% of the games will copy no problems.
Only a few are too big (dvd9) and have to be split.

A 1:1 Backup plays EXACTLY the same as the original.
A dvd-rip Has the large Movies and cutscenes removed to fid on a cd-r.
(Not worth the time.)
You just have to have a Modchip or Boot discs (swap magic) And Slide card /tool.
