After burning a ton of DVDs my NEC burner has started to produce discs which have difficuly playing or do not play at all. I am using the same media and software as I always have. Do burners "go bad" after extensive useage?

I have (2) NEC 3500A's I have not had any problems from either of them. Try getting the newest firmware for it. http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php
