i'm new to the ps2 burning thing, i want to know do i need a mod chip and the flip top case and magic swap. or can i just use the magic swap and disc set without the mod chip.

I am new too
about 3 weeks ago i bought swap magic 3.3, it is easy & fantastic.no modchip required just insert, slide, boot & you are playing games no sweat. also i have found that everything i have thrown at it has played no problem too

& they are very fast my mate bought one too.i cant reccomend these enough
why mess about with costly modchips that invalidate your warrenty

flip-top/swapmagic works fine for me. dont care much bout warranty, but i didnt want to have any mods put in. read in a few forums of ppl messing up ps2's.

I used a modchip. I installed it myself. Let me tell you, it is really easy to fry your PS2 by installing one of these, but if you know what you're doing and have patience, you should be ok. I didn't want to use the swap disc method because I didn't like the idea of having to change discs all the time while the PS2 was running. I am completely satisfied with mod chip. One time major hassle makes up for all the time minor hassles.
