Got HDD-adapter, HDa 2.1 and 160Gb maxtor. No problems with backin' up originals, but can I backup from backup dvd somehow ?

It's the same thing. Use DVD Decrypter and read the backup disc to hdd, then write it to dvdr.

-r should always work, and +r's will work on all v5+ models and some v4's.

I believe if you're using SwapMagic v3.3 it has the option to load PAL or NTSC games.
Also, you could try using a program called PAL2NTSC, or other converter programs.
