I have a new slim-line ps2. I just installed the three "magic switch" sensor blockers correctly ( as per the detailed instructions at the swap magic site. I then turned on the unit, put in the smd3.3 (dvd version) and all I am getting is "Browser and System Configuration on the screen. How can I boot the smd3.3 disc so I can play a back-up. I have searched everywhere for over an hour. someone please help. thanks

Get the "magic switch" hack a couple of days ago, PSTwo as well, what you're describing resembles what happened to me on my first run - if you access de "Browser" menu, it say "No Data".
With me, this happened due to one of two reasons (if not both):
The Swap Magic DVD must already be placed on the drive, before turning the console on;
one (or more of the sensor-pressing tools is badly placed)

With me it was with tool C on the following guide
http://www.swapmagic3.com/Magic_Switch.htm

It wasn't touching the sensor down there, I guess. Carefull playing solved.

Also, I decided to keep the 3 tools always set (lid won't close) and if you find that tool B pops out every now and then, tape will solve the problem, a small bit to help it fixating to the DVD bay. The same for tool A - and the console is covered with a silk cloth to avoid dust.

Hope this helps.

Well, with Swap Magic 3.3 it stops spinning on its own, so whenever it doesn't and keeps spinning, I find it safer to power down the console, check the 3 tools and try again - when it keeps spinning, the boot screen won't show, it's necessary in order to choose NTSC/PAL game boot, or normal/advanced boot...

Don't know which cd utility you have, might pay off checking some home site for it if there is, or some other posts around here...
