Battle for Middle Earth "Join Failed" error

Hi. I have 2 winxp machines behind a linksys router on a home network that I would like to play with. When I create a game on one of them and try to join with the other I get an error message. It says, "Join Failed. Game has detected a mismatch. This means the multiplayer game has lost synchronization data between the players. It is possible that your opponent has modified their version of the game." We have tried creating the game on the other machine to no avail. ICF is turned off on both machines.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Are you trying to play the game on both machines with the same serial number?
