I copied my movies on DVD-R and now when I go and try to recopy them none will copy. I used DVDXCOPY originally and now have tried Nero, DVD Decrypter, DVDXRescue, and just taking the files of manually, nothing works. The disc usually failes near the end. Can anyone help?

I'd venture to say that your copies have CRC errors or unreadable sectors at the end of the disc (where they most often occur).

Try running a surface scan on the disc with DVD Info Pro:

Try a little trick I use for these problems. I had some unreadable copied movies that I wanted to transfer. Click on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/148253 for a simple solution. See if it works for you.

@ jdkay20

About the only option you have with a disc full of errors is to set Decrypter to ignore read errors, do a Hail Mary then let her rip.

@ airbornem

I considered quite rude to hijack another person's thread so feel free to start a new thread of your own and we'll be happy to help you sort out your problem.

Well thanks anyway.
Is there a way I can avoid this in the future?

You can avoid it by using top quality media, burning no faster than 4X, set the target file size to 4,300 MB to avoid burning too close to the edge and making sure the buffers stay full during the burn since a buffer underrun while burning video almost always means a coaster.
