My modded PS2 won't play DVD movies!

I just finally got my mod-chip working for my PS2. All my back-ups are working fine so far (accept for Mercinaries, but that's no surprise to you guys) but for some reason it won't play DVD movies OR DVD back-ups anymore! Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any suggestions?! Please let me know!

turn off the ps2 than turn it on try holding the reset button for 3 seconds before letting go.this is how my ps2 works for playing dvd movies normally i press the reset button once for ps2 games but for dvd movies i have to hold it in 3 seconds.after taht it reboots to dvd movie mode
