Why would my DVR slow down in it's reading, up ro 45 mins per movie and also some just cannot be backed up at all, ie The Grudge.

the grudge can be backed up.
Use DVD Decrypter to decrypt to hdd.
Use DVD Shrink to make it fit on a 4.7

backed it up myself that way.
No tricks in this one.
