Being new at this, I need help. What is the procedure for taking movie files on my hard drive like Ice Age, and put it on a DVD to be played on my DVD player in the living room. I know there are several stages, I just don't know the proper way. Thanks

You can also try DVD Santa for the conversion.

You tried to play your vob's and you have no sound?
This program only gives you the VIDEO_TS folder, the audio folder is always empty anyway, and you dont need it to burn.

I still must be doing something wrong. I ran the AVI thru the conversion program, then went to burn. The video came out great, but no audio. There must be something else I am forgetting. Jim_dandy says the audio is always empty, but why no audio on the burn?

There really isnt much to screw up with the divxtodvd.
Add video file, make an output folder, set aspect i.e. 4:3 full screen, or 16:9 wide screen(ive been leaving this on automatic),set standard i.e. ntsc or pal(i leave this on automatic),click convert.

I assume that you can play the avi on your computer with both sound and video?

After conversion can you play your output file in your dvd playing software i.e. windvd powerdvd etc. with video and audio?

The only thing Im thinking that could be wrong, is that your missing a codec.

Thanks for the guide. I did all that is on it. Maybe it is the burning software? Being new at this I will keep trying. It could be to convert to mpeg2, and not to dvd. I will try mpeg2. Couldn't hurt!
