Ok I have tried searching on here and on google and can't figure out how to get this to work.
I start off by putting my gameshark (V1.6) in ps2 v4 and loading it up. Then go to start games without codes. Then I move the thing all the way to the right, switch the GS cd with the cd with memory card exploit and when i press X it just stays at a black screen, I heard to try and press R1 and O after I switch and still nothing. I havn't been able to boot anything yet, I tried doing a normal psx backup and the same thing happened. And as I'm writting this I just realied that I might have to use ps2 gameshark2 cd to boot exploit? But then still normal psx backups wont work. So how do I not get the black screen after boot? Thanks

all you need to do is take the top off or get the flip top, boot your gs select without codes, then when it ask you to insert your cd, flip the top or knife method or what I do is take the gs cd out and put the backup in and it works, I dont have the top on my ps2. This works with gs 1.6, 1.9, 2 and up

I'm using CD-R, and now I have tried a ton of other ways that are supposed to boot games with GS like tapping x a bunch of times after swapping, holding reset the whole time, but still nothing works...

can you use a backup of GS to boot a backup of a PSX game? I mean if you use the Swap Magic CD > GS (backup) > PSX backup, will that work?

If I had a Swap Magic CD why would I need to use gameshark to boot the CD? (I don't have swap maigc, that's why im trying to use GS to boot.) Also, If I tried to use the PSX GS CD to try and boot memory card exploit and it just did the same thing.

No, it would have to be the psx version of gs, and the swap magic cd wouldn't boot it.

I have gameshark 2 v 1.6 which is for ps2, it came with 2 discs, one for ps2 codes and one for psx codes, and it came with a dongle. the psx disc works fine but the ps2 disc acts like it is burned. hope this is clear

ok, so the ps2 disc doesn't work (thats why you can't get the exploit to load). Do you know what version ps2 you have? How old is it?

Should but doesn't... any ideas why not?
I read on another forum that "the new ps2s has double protection disk check!! like the version 7!!" is this true? meaning i cant use it with my ps2?

possibly, i know gameshark doesn't work in new ps2's, im just not sure if the v7 is included in the ones that don't work. Why don't you just buy swap magic, its a lot easier than gameshark anyways?

PS2Menu
Keylauncher
hd loader
hd advanced
cd loader
cogswap loader
mc loader
mc format
ps2 link
ps2 media
and some more, cant remember, and if your thinking the cd might not boot because of to many files or something, i have tried a couple of single program boot cds and still nothing.

i was just wondering. The cd is not booting because you can't use the ps2 gs disc.
