hey im new to this "dvd shrink", i'v done Collateral and Saving Private Ryan and they turn out great (better then Dvd X Copy). I have a quick question though, what is this smoothness and sharpness? (i have it on Maximum Smoothness. Which one would help me get the best quality? smooth or sharp?

thanks in advance

I also use Max Smoothness, but if you want a full explanation of what each setting does, have a look at the following thread.....

Decrypter burns just as well as Nero, so no need to worry there.

I say go with Sharp, best of both worlds. But the difference should be noticeable on larger television sets. Here is a DVD Shrink FAQ page, should answer any questions you have about Shrink.

Personally, I only use the deep analysis function, and leave the other option set at default. Thats what I started out with, and after a few hundred burns, my eyes and ears haven't been able to tell a difference between the originals and the backups using this method.

Thats just my experience though.

I use deep analysis and do separate burns until I get the result I want. What's wierd is I like the results for Toy Story on the smooth side and Shark Tale looks better on the sharp side. They're both Pixar films but they seem to be different a bit visually.

Give yourself to the Dark Side.
