Hello. I'm looking for a way to rip a few episodes of Seinfeld off the new DVDs. I'd like a few on my hard drive so I'm looking for a format that doesn't take up to much space. I was hoping someone could suggest some ways to do this as well as some guides too.
Thanks

hi
load to dvd shrink on re-author mode and put the titles in drag from right window to left window and burn via nero or dvd decrypter, set the burn app in shrink as it use either one to burn!
Nothing here to see, move along folks.

You got several options here. first you could rip just .VOB movie files using DVD Decrypter. you mention smaller file size there are some tools out there that will convert .VOB files to .AVI or mpeg.(divx or mpeg4)
another option is if you have a capture card,or vivo on video card or via camcorder firewire. You could capture what chapter you want using windows movie maker (Free) as .wmv files. Virtual dub nice free utility for capturing. Check out a probram called Gardian Knot. You may can find guides here, I know there are some at vcdhelp.com .

I've used verbatum and tiyo yuden +/-R both play on xbox. Rip using DVD Decrypter newest version file mode and select everything. after rip fire up DVD Shrink make .iso file. then you can use any burning software to burn iso file, I use Nero and DVD Decrypter. Not sure what dvd burner your using Im using sony DRU710A and burn from 4X to 8X and they all play fine on xbox. Now that said I've had my xbox for 2 years so your version could be newer than mine. I have a friend who purchased one for christman using same burner as me. Everything for him playing on xbox.
Good Luck
