i have just burned san andreas onto a dvd-r at 2x using dvd decryptor i the put it in my slimline ps2 using swapmagic v3.3 it shows the 2 rockstar images and then the intro which you can skip by pressing x after that there is the notice about not using the behavior in the game etc and the disc stops and starts and nothing else happens. can anyone help??

Don't use DVD-R, they are not as good as DVD+R's. Another reason might be the DVD's. What type do you have?

i am using datasafe or maybe datawrite i dont know as i have thrown away label and they are printable ones 8x dvd-r are these any gud i got 25 4 £5 at my local computer fair bowlers (europes largest)i have also tryed ridata 8x dvd-r on 007 nightfire using dvd decryptor

Don't use DVD-R, they are not as good as DVD+R's.

Where did you hear that Jsheppard? The version of PS2 you have determines what media you can use. Versions 3 and down cannot read DVD+R's, some v4's can, versions 5 and above can read both DVD+R and DVD-R. If your having problems loading the game, you may want to check what company makes your media, because those companies that make cheap media may be the reason why.

what media do you recomend i bought 50 dvd+rs but went back and swapped them for 50 ridatas because i wanted to use them for dvds which can play on my dvd player as well as games

Do a search for a program called DVD Identifier. It will let you know if the media you are using is good or not and who it is made by.

just used dvd identifier and the disc with 007 nightfire on is made by ritek corp the ones i put san andreas onto is made by cmc magnetics corp not what was on the paper labels on the inside

my ridata are ritek according to dvd identifier so they should work good?
also is it better to buy 4x than 8x or is it vcost or quality of backup

you should not burn faster than x2 anyway
gta san andreas should be burn on x1

i have just done a check with Nero cd-dvd speed on the disc with san nadreas on which where made by cmc magnetics and i got shocking results
Good: 35.36 %
Damaged: 0.00 %
Unreadable: 64.64 %
do not buy cmc magnetics as they are rubbish
