I'm considering purchasing a DVD burner that is capable if burning double-layer DVD+R, for burning home movies. I've had some issues playing DVD-Rs on my Sanyo (TV) DVD player, where DVD+Rs play just fine. I've also seen and heard and read of several other DVD players only able to play DVD-R, and not DVD+R or vice-versa. Are there the same issues playing double-layer DVD+Rs like this? Do I need to research my DVD player to make sure it can play double-layer DVD+R before buying one? I kind of thought the double-layer DVDs were the same format that standard movie DVDs (like you'd get a Blockbuster) would be in.
