Hi

My DVD driver won't play my burned DVD-R but it works on my DVD player. Why is that?

Usually it works the other way around. But occasionally you get a burn with faults and a PC won't read it. Players are more forgiving and in some instances play media that won't work in a PC. Just a guess, it could be other problems.

Be happy you can watch it. A bunch of people end up with coasters. Does this happen on all your recordings?

When I tried to play my burned DVD-R in my DVD driver, nothing happened as the DVD driver could not recognise my DVD-R

You have a habit of not anwering the questions and making comments.
I asked

Then bbmayo asked

The questions are intended to get answers so the members have enough information to try to figure out a solution to your problem or at least figure out what may be causing it.

I dont believe Media Player classic is a DVD capable software player. You have to have a Software proggy that will play DVD's this also installs the codec needed to play DVD's. Some of the popular ones would be Power DVD or Win DVD. Can you watch any DVD's in your drive? This would be a way to tell if you have the proper software available to even play DVD's on your PC. Try an original..

I've found the WinDVD6 player from InterVideo to be a good player. I have the Nero Show Time with the Nero suite, but I don't use it much anymore. Make sure the required software is on your system. If not they're free; i.e. Quicktime and Realplayer. You can download the trial and link to the necessary software at http://www.intervideo.com .
