Hello, I have been trying to find some good media, tried Taiyo Yuden dvd +R's 8x, found out that I should by 4x. I have a v9 ps2, using dvd decrpyter and am deciding to go back to -r's... Will this 4x disk be reliable....

I use these all the time and haven't ever had a problem yet that was caused by media quality.

These don't appear to be Ridata, just regular Ritek G04. I used a couple of Ridata before and made coasters, so now I just stick with regular G04. Should work great-even in Canada.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what does G04 represent? Do multiple manufacturers use this type of designation?

And which media type generally utilizes best results for PS2 backups +R or -R ??

G04 is the name of the dye. Only ritek uses it. -r is more compatible, and +r works better for some in newer ps2's.

Makes sense thanks!

Is it possible to copy a home-brewed DVD which is on a +R to a -R or vice versa?

I recently bought some Ritek dvd-r and so far I've had the same result as using Sony dvd-r media.I figured that the Ritek one's would be better but that wasn't the case for me.Maybe I'll have some luck with dvd +r.
