Hi, new to board..

I have a series of .mov files that I need burning onto a dvd. They are .mov because the digital camera I used to make them creates them in .mov format.

However, the burner i use (NeroExpress v6.6.0.1)doesn't allow me to burn DVDs using .mov format files. I have my blank DVDs at the ready, a very powerful DVD burning drive, my files, but how do I get them onto the dvd?

I have already tried making .mpeg copies of the files and using them, and, whilst these still play ok, they don't get on the dvd. Tell me, what do i do? I need help on it!

PLEASE!

Ok,

I will summarise what i said to start with

1) Series of .mov files created by digital camera
2) I attempt to put these .mov files onto a DVD using NeroExpress 6. Result = Failure
3) I copy each video file, and paste it somewhere else, then change the format of each pasted file to .mpeg.
4)I play the files on my media player to check that i did not corrupt them by changing the file extension. The files still play as before.
5) I attempt to put these .mpeg files onto a DVD using NeroExpress 6. Result = Failure.

What went wrong, and what can i do? I still have..

a) The original .mov files and
b) The .mpeg files created from the .mov files.

I don't know how much more concise I can be on this!

hi

try loading either the .mov (probably wont load?) or the changed file extension mpeg2 to TMPGEnc PLUS to convert to mpeg2 dvd compliant files...

then load the mpeg2 to TMPGEnc dvd author to make vobs and burn with the same app...

Correction, no longer working 100%...

It gets a certain way through processing a file then just stops. It is getting really annoying.

It processed 1 file all the way through, and now is just screwing up.

WHY!?!?

hi

try a reboot, maybe system resources?

also what is the error?

tmpgenc plus will convert it, but may need to load FFDShow codecs and move priority on VFAPI tab DIRECTSHOW to priority 2 !!

just tryed this for me it works....

it was an mpeg4 type file!

Ok, if you are still there,

The problem has now progressed a little. I have successfully converted 4 of my seven files. But for some reason the other 3 have tiny numbers of frames (e.g 25, 42, 112) compared to the others that had about 5000, and this means that it only takes about 2 seconds to turn the .mov into an AVI file.

But due to the low number of frames the file is pretty much useless. They are about 6 seconds long and do not have the right no. of frames. there is nothing wrong with my .mov files - if you play them in a media player, they still play as you expect them to do. But if the RAD tools say that they are only a few frames long, i have a serious problem.

Please help! You've been great so far..

Do you have Quicktime Pro? You could try combining the individual MOV files into a single MOV file first, and then convert to dvd format.

hi

not sure now? if like you say the file are low in something perhaps its just a no win situation?

but like bazilla says can you jion the lot somehow? then convert the one file over?

but i have no idea on this approach?

EDIT...

you did have mpeg files that played yeah? what converted those? and why wont they burn ?

put the mpegs in tmpgenc dvd author! and see what it says! it may be ok and it will convert them to vob/ifo/bup etc and also that app will burn...
