Was wondering if you guys could possibly help me out. I have read a few threads in here on how to burn the games to disk, but I keep getting the same message, insert a ps or ps2 game. I'm using DVD Decryptor and have the mod chip placed in my system. I have a few games burned already, from a friend, that work just fine. But when I try to burn games I get that message above. I'm using a Sony DWD-22A burner. Anybody have any solutions? All help is appreciated.

Really? The guy who chipped my PS2 and burned some games from me used Memorex and those worked fine. I have seen that a lot on these forums though, and was wondering if that was the case. I've tried evrything that was said that other thread I linked above, but that could probably be the problem. I'll check it out, thanks.

Hey Evil_Twin,

I'm with them - kind of...

I have used Memorexes DVD-R with my Pioneer DVR-108 Dual Format burner. While using DVD Decypter, I am 2 for 5 in burning successful backups. However, I have personally just tried another way - with my Memorex DVD-R's - and have so far been 2 for 2.

I now use DVD Decypter to READ my original and then use Alcohol 120% to actually BURN the game on the slowest speed possible all while nothing else is running on my PC. What's really odd is that my slowest speed is 4x. Whatever, I don't question 100% burn rate :D

Anyway, if you need more help, just post back man and good luck!

Oh, and I am still going to get some Verbatims instead of sticking with Memorex. Too many mixed reviews. Verbatims and TDK's seem to be the brands of choice for veteran PS2 gamers.

You can actually catch them on sale for far less. Last week they were actually selling for $20 on BestBuy.

Good Luck!

My PlayStation2:

Version:SCHP-50001/N
Backup Mode: FlipTop Cover (Blue) & SwapMagic 3.3
Media of Choice: Verbatim DVD-R
Software: DVD Decrypter (READ)
Alcohol 12

JRoland

I downloaded Alcohol 120% and followed your advice to a T. But alas, it still didn't work. I'm starting to think it is the disks, so I'm going to get some different ones this weekend. A guy I work with says he uses Ritek discs and he says there one of the best for a good price, so I'm going to check those out from him. It could quite possibly be my burner. But we'll see once I get these disks if that don't work then I'm guessing it's my burner. Does anyone know about Sony DW D22a writers. if someone does let me know. Peace
