I have tryed 3 cables!, two are network cables and one is a cross over!
I have also sorted the firewall!!
On my xbox screen in the evox under settings it says Link No LiNK!
Please someone help i'm starting to get very cross!!!!

Iv'e read through countless forums on FTP-ing the xbox, and have gotten the easy way with a crossover cable to work. Problem is I dont like undoing the eternet constantly, and do have a nub hooked up already. I know the computer can find the box (XBC works fine and locates it easily) I want to permenantly hook it up through the hub, but cant get any ftping to work for it.
Running evox on the box, xp on the comp.
tried setting the xbox default gateway to the computer ip, but that was unsuccessful... Cant leave my comp IP set to anything diff, as college student hooked into a res-net that auto assigns the ip.
Just looking for a way to be able to stream to and from the box, move files around, and play on the internet and NOT have to switch over to the crossover cable if possible....

hello,
i d/l flsh fxp, hooked it up with my xbxo, now ive been having a problem with my mod chip (xecuter 2) i d/l a movie but im guessing it has corrupt files, so now when i turn it on, i dont even have control, and cant move with my controller!!!!! or d/l new games or even play games that i bought, i wanna take this game off my xbox!!!!
however, for the "quick connect"part, i enter xbox, xbox, but for the ip address i dont know what to put!!!!!!!! and ive tried everything!!!!!!!!
192.168.2.1 and so many other
what should i put for the "server or url" im really desperate

I've read most of these posts and am having trouble also. Is the only way to connect to a soft modded box via a crossover cable, or can I plug it in my network switch, assign it an ip address and then ftp in to it?

Alright, i got mine working finally. Here's how to do it if you have a cross over cable.
ON YOUR XBOX
IP: 192.168.1.101
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY: 192.168.1.100
ON YOUR PC
go into the properties for your network card, then click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" then click properties, then enter the following...
IP:192.168.1.102 (DIFFERENT to xbox)
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0 (SAME as xbox)
DEFAULT GATEWAY: 192.168.1.100 (SAME as xbox)
then click ok
*Then open up FlashFXP, make a new site in sites > site manager
*Site name: xbox (or whatever u want)
*IP:192.168.1.101 (SAME as XBOX)
*User name: xbox
*Password: xbox
Then click on the options tab and untick the "use passive mode" box
click on apply, then connect, everything should be sweet :)
if not try turning off ur firewall and anti virus, they always seem to screw things up for me.

for ANDYBAM.
Error code 13 is a dashboard failure due to bad/missing key (whatever that means).
Is your box soft modded or chipped?
Might be just a case of reinstall dashboard.
What did u do to make this happen?

Ok im not sure what i did it was really really hot so i turned it off and half and hour later i turned it back on to get the error 13 message it is chipped with an x-ecuter 2.3 or 2.4 something close to that i had it chipped over a year ago and this is the first time its stuffed up. but with re installing i have no idea how to do any of that because a friend of mine ordered and chipped it for me because even with games it will not load anything

It could be the hard drive is broke.
When I first chipped mine i tried to back up all the data on standard xbox hd by hooking it up to my pc and using a dodgy prog i downloaded that was supposed to be able to read the xbox file system, it made a funny noise and never worked again, i was sick, hours of game saves gone on half a second.
So i bought a 160gb western digital and hooked it up to my pc and using a prog called "xbox hdd preparer" made it xbox friendly, after which i used slayers auto installer and chose the "Large HD Full rebuid" option.
I recommend getting another hd, if u have a small 10 - 20gb 1 u can test it out with use it, if that works get a big hd and put loadsa games on it, beats the hell out of flicking through piles of discs.

ok awesome ... i have a 40 gig drive thats just lying around though i have no idea where to get the installers or anything to put it all back and ill have a look around for that "xbox hdd preparer"
thanks heaps man. though this mean i will not be able to play live right is there anyway i can put my xbox hard drive in my pc and format it and if its still working put all my backed up files onto it? because i have a copy of the whole harddrive on my pc from before it was chipped

Hey im a newbie, ive tried several ftp programs, it connects but then displays this message. "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." i have have my xbox modded by a professional and all setup with evox dashboard and flashed the bios, etc. Can you please help me.

thought ide post my problem in here, see if i cant get it fixed.
ok bought a new machine, new modem, and cant get it to recognise the xbox! on my old machine i set it up very easily, by just editing the settings in evox system settings and on the tcp/ip settings of my network card. Simple!
now i read the part about the network drive, and i tried that, with no avail...what should me default gateway be on my xbox??
im using the following settings
Xbox
Setup network: yes
Static ip: yes
ip: 192.168.1.200
supnet:255.255.255.0
default gateway:192.168.1.1
DNS:0.0.0.0
DNS:0.0.0.0
Pc
Under network connections/ethernet adapter, properties,tcp/ip properties
use following ip address:ticked
ip:192.168.1.100
subnet:255.255.255.0
Default Gateway:192.168.1.1
Dns are empty
i am using a crosover cable from pc to xbox, i know it works as i used it on my old pc, my modem is connected via usb port. also, something to note, to access settings of my modem i must tpe in 192.068.1.1, to set it up ect....
i have followed guide point for point....and cant get xbox connected
please any help would be much appriciated!

if you have windows xp then you automatically have firewalls up, but i see nothing else wrong with it. you said your xbox is modded rite? you have to be in the evox or unlx dash when you try to ftp or it wont work. Hope this helps! :)

yes, i know about being in evox, nope makes no difference, and my firewalls are down.
i have 2 boxex, one for modded, and one for live, now if i plug my live box into the back of my modem thru the ethernet port, i can get onto xbox live....i also get a connected signal ib system tools in evox on the other box, however i can't ftp into it with ipswitch.... confused?? Welcome to my world!

Im using smartftp and it keeps telling me that the client closed the connection. what am i doing wrong?

Are those the right settings?
