Hi everyone.
This is my first time, so patience please. I'm using a Pioneer 109. I am presently using Phillips DVD-Rx8 with Nero 6,and DVDshrink. Some dvds playback fine throughout. Others go all pixelated after about an hour, but never in the same place. I always shrink to the hard drive. The problem happens on playback to pc and dvd player. Am I using lousy media?

Your media is questionable, I would use something like Verbatim, Maxell, TDK or TY etc. Are you burning at 4x with all programs disabled and not using your computer whilst this process is going? Are you compressing your movie too much?

You can burn at a lower speed, 8x is the maximum speed you can burn that particular media at.
Try slowing your speed down and that may help you.

I agree with Bardie slow down your burn speed, use better media and dont write to the edge of your disk. If using shrink to put movie on hard drive try setting to 4300mb.

I'm haveing similar problems. I have a 8x drive and I bought memorex 8x dvds. I shrink with shrink, and burn with Nero and my movies freeze constantly.
Now if I use shrink and decoder The only media that will work so far is sony -R and that is burning 4X. Memorex still freezes at 4x

What is your opinion of memorex?
