I tried using dvd identifier, but it didnt do anything but recommend an upgrade on my firmware and I dont want to do that. The only way I found to do it so far is to go to nero dvd-cd speed and make a data disk... it shows who manufactured the disk and all afterwards, but you have to waste a disk to do it.


What other ways are there to check what the media ID is on your blank media? Thanks in advance for your help

the free download on the site says it already expired...I guess he hasnt updated his page. doesnt make much sense, but I couldnt get it to install correctly... any other programs?

Sorry about that Reznor9. I just use Nero6 tools for my purposes. I saw that it allows the download for the free version but also said it expires on 1/3/2005 as you mentioned. I bet the Full version which is not free still works!!! LOL How nice of them! :)

Try this free utility from Plextor. It works on blanks too.

Use the link kchev gave you. It is free, works flawlessly, and will work with burned or blank dvd+r/-r/rw's.
