The file system on a DVD is UDF. On a DVD you'd buy, the video is MPEG-2, which placed in a VOB file with Dolby AC3 audio (or sometimes it has DTS audio). Most DVD players can read some other stuff, including MPEG-1 VCDs, MPEG-2 SVCDs, MP3 audio, WMA audio, JPEG pictures, DivX/XviD AVI videos (this is more rare), etc. I'm not really sure what you're asking, so please reply with more details.

If you want to fit a lot onto one DVD or CD they are very good. The quality is good and you can fit a bunch more onto one disk so if this is what you are looking for then it would be a good choice.

hmmm.. im not really bothered with divx any more to be honest...

i bought a 32" widescreen tv last xmas (merry xmas to me) and divx just dont cut the grade any more... especially when you have invested in a decent 5.1 system too

i would rather have a high quality dvd player than a low quality dvd/divx combo

nope...

once you compare a GOOD divx to a DVD you can see there is a HUGE difference... but you need a big TV to really show the difference

its a pity really as i have about 400+ divx/xvid in my attic now :) just gathering dust!

erm... i use photoshop cs and made a template myself - i have 2 templates... one at 120 dpi for cdcovers.cc and one at 300 dpi for daprogga covers (as they are usually 600dpi+!!)

this is then calibrated to my a3 printer so i get milimetre perfect sizing (or ~1/16" for any yanks still living in the stone age ;)).

i also add an outline of a black 1px line round the cover - this helps cutting when the covers is mainly white etc...

if you set up grids and stuff you can resize really quickly. i love photoshop , use it every day at work...
