I use Dvd Shrink and never had a problem before on my old ps2, now i bought a new one for traveling, it plays most burnt dvd's that i have burnt but some don't work,
Now the funny thing is that the dvd I put in played the first time then when i took it out and played it again it couldn't read the disc i tryed some more that i recently burned and no luck, the ones that i burned before work perfectly the only thing i notice is that the Dvd+R's that i bought have a different colouring but same name brand just different style, i mean its Memorex there both 8x discs just the colourning is different does anyone know whats going on??
Why would the new ps2 play some and not other?
Why would it play the first time but not the second time?
Hey man thats real good info but one problem though i have the new Ps2 and i just bought it, it should be under warrenty but it shouldn't be friggin up already, i mean i will be taken it back but i was woundering it the new ones are going to be like the old ones and have the problem again.
You got different batches of memorex and notice a color change: Memorex is a classic example of a name brand outsoucing it's media to many different manufacturers.Specially when you switch to different quantities or packages. The only color change I notice is on rw's,they are gray. My r's are all purplish.Media changing colors is a quality issue.
Here is a few manufacturer's for the memorex +8x:
1)prodisc-r03-should be the better stuff
2)phillips c08-??? unsure about their quality
3)cmag-E01- Usually the worst
Depending on which ones you got, that is the likely issue of that new ps2 not reading your backups. The cheaper quality media can do a number of things when playing them on stand alone players and game players.
Use this program to find out which manufacturer made those memorex's. Check the codes on some of your older backups as well as the newest ones. These codes will tell us what is going on.
This may explain why you can play them once only.It usually comes down to quality.
