Use Dvdshrink. Re-author. Open main movie. Move title to compilation. You can remove credits by editing start and stop. Also remove subs and foreign sound in compression settings.

Is it one file? If not could be wide screen and full screen files. Preview each file if your not sure.

I would shrink it then. If the extras are included then just remove them. I gonna rent it tommorrow and see for myself. Not going to copy it though.;p

dude44, what version are you trying to back up? I have the collector's edition and found that there are five different angles for this movie. Just backup the first title. The main title itself is just under 6gb with eng DD 5.1,DTS 5.1, frnch DD 2.0 and 4 subs. This movie should fit in its entirety if you remove the french soundtrack.

I take it you're woking with the original edition and not the new 2-disc specal edition?
I've the original edition and Shrink shows a single main title that is 7,704MB, CloneDVD2 shows the same. This is one of those films where there's no way around heavy compression.

hi
to be honest shrink can compress 8 gig but your 7 you can make smaller by cropping start / end credits!

I backed this up last night for shits and giggles. I ripped the movie by itself with only the DD 5.1 soundtrack. It only had to be compressed a little under 9%. I had deep analyzation checked, selected maximum smoothnes, and burned at 16x. It took a little under an hour, and I have to say the picture looks better than the original release even though I had to compress it a little. Oh and just for the hell of it I set the booktype to DVD-Rom. I say if you like this movie shitcan the oringinal and buy the collector's edition. It even has a DTS soundtrack(Good only if your receiver has a dts decoder). Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

I just duped it after my last post. Reauthored with Shrink for movie only, 5.1 English and nothing else. It worked fine.

I've the original and see no need to run out and buy the 2-disc set but ultimately it's your call.
