hey i got a dvr-107d which i like and is one of the first burners that have dual format capability. my question is i usually use dvd+R and my dvd player reads them fine. do anyone use -R? i'm curious because these are usually cheaper and i'm wondering if they will work as good? or should i stick with +r

This is just my opinion, based on personal experience, but I prefer -R due to a better compatability with standalone players. I too have a 107 and a 108 and a 109, pioneer make great burners, but RPC1 make better firmwares ;)

I've got a 106 and a 108 and they are both great burners,also I've been able to back up movies my friend hasn't been able to using a more generic brand of burner, plus I did my first DL disk in the 108 and it came out perfect, I nearly always use -R because it's cheaper and more compatible for stand alones.
