I have about six or seven games I have backed up, and on each one of them the sound and video are never in sync. I backed up the punisher, the sound doesn't go with the game, I backed up the getaway black monday, and during the cutscenes, the voice would start saying something a minute after it was supposed to. The only successful back up I have ever had is ncaa football 2005. I just did nba street 3 and it takes forever to load, it lags, and the sound is choppy. Are all these problems normal? The worst is the huge loading times. I was wondering if it may be something with the mod chip. The guy that soldered it in told me he had done it on a lot of other systems, but it took him forever and he didn't get it right until the third try so I'm wondering if this is wrong. I have good media, and am burning at slowest possible speeds. I just thought that if it worked at all the mod chip must be working.

Well i had no problems with Black Monday or The Punisher myself. They both work great. So it has to either be the media or the PS2. Sometimes, when a friend of mine was using Imation disc and an older burner this would happen to him every now and then, and his PS2 had no mod chip. Once he got a new burner it has stopped. Is your burner new? What type of media do you use (brand, -R or +R, speed). And do you make sure that when you burn that there are no other Processes running in the backround on the computer.

I use verbatim+r's at 1X speed with no other processes running, I'm not sure how to check what kind of burner I have, I checked in properties and I think the name is philips dvd+rw d28. I also use maxell and tdk discs and get the same results, but I always try verbatim first.

your "slowest possible speed" if it is 2x might be the problem. This was my situation about 6 months ago. The media would burn at 1x but the burner wouldn't, so I got stuck with 2x, which was kinda hit-or-miss for me. Now I use a different burner and have no problems when burning at 1x. Also, media is a huge deal with PS2 games, so make sure you have good media. I use Ritek G04 (not Ridata) and many other people swear by Taiyo Yuden.

do a search for Black Monday and see what others are saying about it. I haven't read too much on it but it does appear to be a problem for some people.
