The general consensus is that CMC media is garbage and that is consistent with my experience. Some people report no problems, but I won't use it again.

Crappola!!!!! Landfill!!!

Burn them very slow, maybe even 1x.
Don't put anything important on them.Reports of breakdown in less than 6 months from some members.

C-mags can screw you up in so many ways, that's why it is advisable to stay away from.

Buy the good stuff,it'll save you a lot of time now and down the road. Good Luck

The best media is made in japan: ty,mcc, hitachi, fuji

Genuine taiyo yuden are said to be the best.Avoid the generic names listing ty as their manufacturers.

Mitsubishi chemical corp is another fine media, The japanese ones are better. The taiwanese ones are pretty good.
Hitachi another japanese manufacturer for some of maxell's.
Ritek's are also very good

Now if you want a pretty good, safe name brand media, I like maxell's in both the + and - formats. They use hitachi,ty,ricohjpn-o1,ritek,and mxl as their manufacturers. All top notch.Look for made in Japan on the upc code of the maxell shrink wrap for the better ones. The + and - 8x's i used are all from Japan. The overall good quality comes in handy if you want to try out a 3,5,10,25,or 50 pack. They are all great manufacturers no matter what quantity you get.

If you can find the sony +1x-8x that were made in japan, those are made by taiyo yuden also. I burned 25 out of 350 so far with not a single issue.

Fuji has most of it's media made in japan. Those are highly rated.

Just look on those labels for MADE IN JAPAN, you can find some great prices at local stores when they have them on sale.
