Whats the best media to use to burn with an Emprex Dvd Rewriter?

Hi I am doing dvd backup's and I keep having the same problem - I use dvd shrink and then burn with Decrypter but 90% of the backup's freeze. I am becoming very disheartned with it.
Have you guys got any advice at all for me and where am I going wrong?
I have been using imation +r the media id is fujifilm03 amd the -r has a weird id no that I cant remember. I have also only been burning at x4 max.
Help me please

Smiles -- was this the cheapest writer you found then bought ? Can you return it and get a better one ? Empress are not quite ranked with the good , let alone the best on the market !

Maybe see if you can get a firmware update for it -- it could be out of date. Do some experimenting with better media may help.

No I asked pcworld to fit me 1 and this is the 1 they reccomended!
Can you advise me on some media to try then please?

Ive have tried all kinds of media and the ONLY media that has worked for me has been Verbatim. Start with media first. Im sure that is what is going on. Let me know how it goes.

hi all just to let you know how I went on with the verbatim media-I had only 1 coaster out of 25 and they all played perfectly so I will definitely continue with them. You guys got any ideas where I can buy from without having to pay £7.00 for postage.

Hi Benfica 1
I too have a Emporex dvd burner I had major problems wth pc line media now I use ritek not one coaster since.
I am in the midlands and get my media locally
