I am a newbie to all this, and I have downloaded two seasons of South Park, but the format is unknown to me.. It says RM file. I was wondering if anyone knows what I have to do to watch these files, and also how to burn them out to either DVD or CD.

Hoping for answers:)

Regards Kim

rm = real media which can be played back by (of course) real player. Also mplayer and with Gabest's real media filter and real codecs installed windows media player or any other dshow based player.

As for burning... same as any other data.

No, not that simple, if you wish to watch them on your standalone player plugged into TV.
Biolsoft.com has an RM converter. Use it to convert them to mpeg-2 DVD spec, then author and burn.
There are other converters, check out EO video.

No one mentioned converting. Just burning.

I know...I read this: "and also how to burn them out to either DVD or CD", and assumed one would want to convert first...

Well, I don't really know that much about format's and converting.. So i just burn shit out the way it is.. And i watch it either on my DVD player if I can, or on my computer. But I plan to buy a DVD player that plays any format, my friend has one of those, it plays EVERYTHING nomatter what.. :) so, that must mean there's no need to convert?

As far as I am aware none exists. That said an XBox with XBMC installed should play them back fine.
