Are there any precautions to take to make sure
you don't crew up anything installing or flashing the
chip to the xbox.

yes but I think that it is not much of a risk because it is no soder. I also would like to know this because I am about to install a xbit on someones xbox and I don't want to f up.

Ive installed about 4 or 5 XBIT chips and never had a problem, except my first one ya have to watch out where one of the pogo pins sits and make sure its on the control point.
