Please Help I can burn a DVD RW but not DVD R

I have made many coasters :-( trying to burn a DVD R but have no luck. I have tried several programs such as Nero and a few others. I can burn a DVD RW with no problems, but when trying to burn the DVD R I get errors.

Please advise.

What R U trying to burn onto the DVD R?

The media is TEON which I bought from Staples. But I have used others with the same problems.

I am trying to burn a movie that I converted from VCD to mpeg. I need to burn it to a DVD+r since my portable DVD player will not play DVD+RW's. I was able to burn it to a DVD+RW with no problem, but this only plays in my standalone machine.

Any clues why I can burn A DVD+RW with no problems but when I try a DVD+R I get burn failures.

My guess would be bad media.
Whats the I.D on those TEON'S anyway?

I'm sure this is obvious, but.... are you using DVD+R media? If you have a burner that can do + and - and RW you need to insert a DVD+ into you burner.

I dont have the I.D on TEON'S here, but I will post it tomorrow or tonight. It is just kind of strange that the DVD+RW is no problem to burn.
