Sorry, I've been to 26 countries.. and I've seen and experienced a lot more violence than most of you ever will.. how many times have you even left your city? The real world.. you don't know shit other then what you're told.
It's obvious that I was joking about the frustration thing, but you people are really stupid and immature.
(P.S. I was not joking about the games effecting kids, though, because they do.)

On a serious note, like quadratic said earlier in this post--
What proof do you have that violent video games cause
violence? Does every child who owns a video game and
commits some crime mean that the video game causes that
violence? What if that kid also had abusive parents or a
history of child molestation that the media never focused on?
The fact of the matter is, children have been fucking up for as
long as there has been children. That's why parents
discipline them(well unless the child can dial social
services.) There is never ONE factor in any problem.
Regardless, there is no disputable evidence that violent video
games cause anger, aggression or violent tendencies.
On a side note, you seem to respond more to the "13 yr old
kids" who talk shit to you than anyone who presents a
reasonable arguement against your currently LAME
defense. I suggest if you intend to be taken seriously
that you at least try to say something other than the same shit
you've been saying for the last 4 posts

No childhood anymore huh? I beg to differ! Use to be children had to help on the farm and work their arse off helping the family just to get by and make a living! Present day, children can sit around and watch saturday morning TV fun house, then hop on the 4 wheelers and ride around the back country with their buds.
So tell me, what exactly do you feel bad about? That they are forced to play violent video games? If you are, the kids arent being forced. These kids you are defending could care less about violence...they are more occupied with things like farts and insects. They play the games because they have good gameplay, and they are fun. Nothing more...nothing less. They do not sit there and think...*Wow, MasterChief is so cool, Im gonna go kill my mother* If anything they are thinking: *Wow, MasterChief is so coo, I love my mom for getting this game for me!*
So yeah, who are you to feel sorry for these kids? They have nothing to feel sorry about...If you want to spread your pitty go donate to a non-profit help the homeless org, It would be time better spent. ;)

Ha, this is the best thread I've seen in a long time.
I have 3 kids, ages 9, 8 and 2. The older ones, I will not let them play GTA for the simple fact of the language. NOT the violence. Same for Leisure Suit Larry, it's the sexual content they don't need to see. They do however play MK Deception and Blood Rayne to name a few of the more "violent" games (by which I mean the blood, gore, etc) on a regular basis. If the GTA series didn't have the language, I'd let them play all the time, but being in elementary school, I don't think they need to go repeating what they hear on a video game, which I know they would. Also, I know for a fact they won't go immitating the violence aspect. And I have yet to see my kids trying to put a "finishing move" on one another. It's how you raise your children, not what you let them play or not play. They know the difference between real life and pretend, and so should the parents who buy these so called "violent" games. If you think it's not approiate for your kid, don't buy the damn thing. If you think your kids are mature enough (at whatever age) to play them, go friggin buy em.
So those of you who think all violent games should be banned, go to your favorite nostalgic store and buy a re-furbished Atari2600 or Colecovision, where the games were simple.
Video games do not make violent kids. Thats just a cop-out for bad parenting. Kids in the home witnessing spousal abuse, child abuse, etc, will tend to "be more like their parents" and do what they see in real life not in video games.
So all of your Tipper Gore fans posting here, go get a life and find something else to complain about thats more revelant in todays society, like the rising gas prices or the thousands of troops lost over seas.

Sorry i havent replied yet we had a huge snowstorm...
I think that children should not be playing these violent video games! Yes they do make children violent and i hope we start to ban them all!!! Canada is already talking about this issue and there saying the same as me...
We Don't need anymore violence anymore with the wars and killing, etc... And I extremly think it's BS like 100% BS that violent don't make children violent...
I think the Grand Theft Auto Series are bad for chilren,students, until there mature enough...And dont give me more BS about :ohhhh there already mature enought...THATS 10000000% BS...Last year at my school someone took a knife and told everybody that hed kill my friend...after he didnt but almost did and told me that it was because it was in GTA vice city...

Doggy_Bot the fact is half the people at my school carry some kind of gun or knife on them for protection because they are in gangs. Are you saying video games are making this happen because they don't even play video games. I agree with BR7 sex games are worse for kids then violent ones. Also what is Canada going to do use there army to make the US stop making video games ha.

I'm not mature because I don't believe that every child goes pyscho after playing GTA? Get a grip. My nephew who is 11 plays GTA every time he comes over my house, and he isn't going crazy. After playing the game, he's done. He doesn't threaten police officers. He doesn't have guns and shoot people. He just plays the game. And you act as if all children that play games like such are badly affected. You can stick that crap right back up your ass.

I think it's BS that you want to ban a few violent games and yet you don't protest the MPAA, who affirms many violent movies every year.

No it wasn't because of GTA. It was because he had some personal steam to let out and he used GTA as the blame. Only in America could someone get away with something like that by saying "It's the gaming industries fault" or "It's the gun industry's fault." It's really no one's fault but their own.
I know this is a long post, but it's true. I'm sick of people saying "This is violent," but the truth is, that the majority of games have always been violent. It's just that now consoles have better visuals and video cards, and now the blood and gore becomes more graphic. This doesn't change the violence that has always been there though.
If you don't want your children playing the games, then don't let them play it. But don't try and dictate to everyone about how they raise their children.

I see doggy bot didnt answer my previous question, When you gonna wake up and realise that we live in a violent world, Full of murderers pedafiles ect, At least you know your kids are safe at home whilst playing the xbox ps2 ect, There does seem to be a few insidennts in schools in the us, As noted on the news, But guns are second nature in the us,We dont seem to get these problems in the uk, The police dont even carry guns here,
There is a few gang wars in the uk but not on a large scale like the us, So what point are you trying to make ?, Every other person carry a gun in the us dont they, What a nice place to live ay,

Wow this is a joke. If you bother to spend any time with your children at all and raise them with some decent morals and teach them some respect, they will turn out alright. If a kid can become more influenced by a video game than by a parent, then you're doing something wrong. And i believe most of the violence from kids these days is in direct relation with the way their parents raise them, not by what video game they rent from blockbuster.

not every other person carrys a gun, crime mostly is in poor areas not everywere, and if the police here did not carry gun they would all be dead. There is more crime in the US because we are more free than other countrys and allways have been.
