I live in New York City, and I know that cops NEED to carry guns around here. Anyway, it's pathetic, I hate guns.. I've been robbed at gunpoint twice.

yes the fact is we need guns but they need to have better rules and laws to stop the wrong people to get there hands on them. I use them to hunt and nothing else, no handguns.

THERES MORE CHANCE OF BEING SHOT OR MUGGED IN THE US THAN THE UK, You only have to watch the us news and watch the uk news to realise that, The police dont carry guns in the uk, And you never hear of a police officer being shot, It seems to easy for anybody to get hold of a gun in the us thats why theres so many killings, The only police that have guns in the uk are airport police obviously for the resent terrorist threats, So when you say your country is more free, I wouldnt say getting mugged at gun point is fun free living,
The prisions are full of people that feel its free to bar arms, I feel much safer with the uk law, If your found with a gun they just shoot you or lock you up, Anyway im gonna go and play brothers in arms now on the xbox with my kids great game, Have a nice day as they say in the us

well you don't have to kill someone with a gun. In seattle the green river killer strangaled them. There is nothing wrong with guns if they are used right. I mean free as being able to bare arms nothing more.

Oh please,
This whole thing about violent video games and music is ridiculous.
I have played all those violent games, i.e.Doom, Quake, Counterstrike, Rainbowsix...you name it, I've played it.
Sure, video games are violent. But let's be honest.
How many of you all can honestly say that you are angrier because you play violent video games and/or listen to rap or heavy metal.
This whole debate about it in Congress is a waste of time, because we all know that it is the parents' responsibility to know what their child is doing.
I know parents can't be there ALL the time, but if they knew what is up in the house or what have you, things would probably be different.
Think of the Columbine Killings...you mean to tell me that they played a mod of Doom and then decided to kill a bunch of kids because of it....SORRY, NOT BUYING THAT CRAP! LOL
To be honest, parents are to blame. Is it our fault that video games are created as violent, NO, because you know what...and I will tell you this....IT IS JUST A GAME PEOPLE!!! When you turn off that console or pc, guess what....you are back in reality, where if people haven't noticed, if you hurt someone,it is real.
All of you all who sit there and say that violent games are the cause are SO dilusional. To all the parents out there who don't know what your kids are doing....you better get with the program and stop making excuses for yourself and talk to your kids that murder is WRONG. There are much better ways of letting out your anger. It isn't funny, cool, great, stupendous, or anything else society makes it out to be....but WRONG. If you kill someone, they DIE, no continue, and no restart.
Like I said, I grew up with all that crap, including being in a gang, lived in DC, and been around the WRONG people, and all that mess, but I am NOT going to sit here and say that if I kill someone it is because of a violent game, NO, if I ever did that, god forbid, I would say that it was either self-defense, or I just wanted to kill that person....
All this talk of blaming games, music, television, and so forth, takes away from the real problem and that is parents not raising their kids right and letting them do whatever the hell they want. No matter what I was doing when I was growing up, I knew that my parents cared for me, and raised me that if you do something wrong, like commit a crime, you go to jail. Plain and simple. No gray line, no hidden meaning, no nothing, just plain and simple truth.
To all the awesome parents out there that teach their kids about right from wrong, you are doing a GREAT job, EVEN if you let your kids play games like Vice City, Halo, Counterstrike, or what have you. To all the parents who don't have a clue and let your child do whatever they want....guess what....you better get one....and hope to see your kid on the 5 o clock news soon using a poor excuse that video games made him/her do it.
Tell you what, why not take the advice from BR7 and shdwsfall and use your time to better serve your community.

yeah.. what about star wars that is violent you see kids fighting with light sabers why don't people talk about that. I like star wars.. the old ones better. video games will allways be "violent". doom is good gta is good halo is good and everyone should be able to enjoy them.

yeah and what about all the violence on fox, like 24. Don't get me wrong it is the show I like most... other than south park. Its not like I like violance.. ok I do but it is cool that it is not really going on, it is fake and no one should ever do what they see on tv.

You must agree The people who make all these violent games and movies, Could'nt care less, All they want is your hard earned cash, But i do agree i dont let my kids watch scary films, Bad scary movies have a bad affect on little kids, They wake up in the night and have bad dreams after watching them, But i wouldnt put star wars in the scary list, Youl be saying the magic roundabout is scary next,

Yes video games are violent and some are not but as i said earlier that there a too kind of people who play video games the one that take the game seriously and those who don't, the ones that don't think that they could do it in reality and kill people brutaly!!! And you know what they do it!!!

i have 7 games for x box i got the top spin and NCAA 2005 that came with mine. all of my other games involve violence. there is no escaping it. 5/7 of my games are violent. Halo halo2 call of duty 007 nightfire medal of honor frontline. and i bought all of them without my mom. im only fifteen but that didn't stop them from selling it to me. the halo's are M for mature the others are teen but for a teen you still have to be sixteen. i don't think the businesses really care if the game is violent or not the just want the millions of $$$$$$ in there wallet. and i agree with what people said earlier if you don't like the violence go play spngebob or shark tales.
