I have bought a new DVD burner that can write dual layer DVDs, the NEC-3520.

I haven't got it yet or the ST DVDs, I heard these are dual layer, so my question is. Does anyone have any experience backing up TNG, VOY, or DS9 DVDs?

What do you recommend I do? Should I buy dual layer DVDs? I can't seem to find many and they are all +R (does it make a difference?)

If I were to use DVD+R DL would it work in most modern players?

If I were to just put it on a DVD-R signle layer is that even possible? Or are these DVDs too large?

What do you guys recommend I do?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Have you searched threw the forum at all?
All the questions you have asked are all over in here.
There is a search box at the top of the screen try looking for DVD9 to DVD5 also in guides section. Or copying dual layer. This should help you out a lot. If there is any further assistance you may need please feel free to ask. Also I have some guides at my website that should help you out (link in sig) :-)

OK, thank you very much, your site was very usefull.

Only one thing I cannot get a definitive answer for, can DVD Shrink split a DVD movie into 2 DVD-Rs?

Cause I don't want to compress if I don't have to so is it possible to put 2 episodes on one disc and 2 more on another disc? I know I can do this with software that you can buy but can DVD Shrink do this?

Thanks.

Yes there were guides for that at my site also... Using Shrink to make 1:1 copy and also joining 2 or more movies in Shrink.. Both would be of use to you... :-)
