why does my dvd drive take so long to finalize when I burn using DVD-X Copy?

Haven't had problems until now. When my disc finalizes it takes a looonng time (over an hour). I also get a "cannot perform end of disc-at-once" error at the end of my DVD data burns on Nero 5.5.10.33. I'm running Windows XP. Are these problems related? I've already uninstalled my IDE controllers and everything is already set to DMA.

Any suggestions please?
