No.1-to burn games on DVD successfully you must have a DVD burner.

No.2-You'll never be able to play a game til your PS2 is modded.

No.3-most games are on DVD nowadays. The files are too large to fit on a CD-R.

Decrypter burns ISO images on DVD. Alcohol 120 will burn CD but the game must be small enuff to fit on CD, which means you'll have to play older games since all the newer ones are on DVD.

Bottom line: If you want to burn and play games you will have to get a DVD burner, get your PS2 modded, and make sure you use good media to burn with. This last is very important, use Verbatim, Ritek, or Taiyo Yuden. You can get branded Riteks(Ridata) for under .50 each with free shipping.
