What is the best process for a newbie for this?

I have some avi's that I would like to make mpeg's so I can burn to DVD-R's. Any advice?

There is a real easy way for newbies, and best of all the software is free :-)

Click on that and go to the guide called "Convert AVI to DVD"

You will be all set :-)
